1) Download the file form the following URL
http://drupal.org/download
2) Unzip and copy files to your server
3) Point your browser to drupal directory
For eg : http://www.domainname.com/drupal6/
4) Change file permision of the following folder to 777
sites/default/files
5) Provide databse details
db name : db_drupal6
db user : username
db pass : password
6) Provide admin user details and submit to finish
